Oh nice I wont feel the need to rush through this series, I understand where morpheus is coming from bc he is kind of like the definasion of sleepy worker who does what he got to do but does it in a slow soft pace and way. Thats how I tend to work too. Fyi I tend to research before I watch it for a reason. But in general for this series I managed to not spoil too much for myself. Plus, some of us appricate the type of protag like dream bc of how tired we get after working a whole week sometimes.

Having played _Metro: Exodus_ recently, this prequel seems to be the equivalent to that game's _The Two Colonels_ DLC. Fine as a side story that explains how certain events came to be in a small portion of the main game but isn't necessary to understanding the main story and doesn't add anything dramatically new. This movie probably would have been better off condensed down to 10 minutes and included as a prologue or flashback to _A Quiet Place 3_ .

Having seen the headline, I was very pleased to hear your positive comments about the film on its own merits, which almost perfectly mirrored my own review after seeing it. However, I think you've (1) got too sucked into the MCU definition of a franchise (2) missed a bit by not seeing the second movie. *spoiler alert* the end of that movie negates the need for any follow-on, the story is basically finished. So this is just a part of the story told from a different angle. And the arc here for Nyong'o's story is whether her death will have any meaning, value or joy, or just be a depressing slide towards the inevitable. I think on all counts (plus seeing how it worked out in a major city) it delivers. And if you want to know why a movie in a franchise can just tell its own self-contained story, without moving a larger 'franchise' story along, watch Goldfinger.

I was side tracked through the movie because it was good but in almost every outdoor scene they had the same black chrysler 200 and black dodge dart in different forms of wrecked states. So you can see that the scenes were filmed out of order. But it's the same two cars.

Now that is funny. The title seemed familiar yet I didn't know there were other movies about this alien invasion story. I watched this one and it is so self contained and complete in itself, and satsifying as it is, I feel no urge whatsoever to watch the others! So good enough I guess.

Pretty sure that Lupita won't be returning in this series tho... not from that last scene...

So, instead of actually reviewing the movie, you spend 90% of the video commenting and nitpicking the fact that this movie doesn't have any significant ties to the previous two, both of which you didn’t even watch. Why, Thorias? You said that the movie was good, but you never really explained why you thought it was good. One of the main reasons I subscribed to your channel is because of your analytical approach when it comes to film/TV discussion. I know why you think Godzilla: Minus One is great, I know why you think Madame Web is terrible. But I don't know why you think this movie is good. Apart from some very brief comments at the beginning, you didn’t really talk about the film itself, more so just how loosely connected it is to the first two films. I'm not saying this to be a jerk, but this review felt half-assed to me.

You missed the point of the movie. It's all about the cat. The sound-seeking aliens are biodrones meant to clean a planet of higher lifeforms so aliens can colonize it, but other aliens had their own biodrones on the planet that had decided we were worth sparing. Cats. In the sequel to this prequel the cat will his use subtle mind control and be carried to a subspace transmitter in order to contact the friendlier aliens. The next movie would be all out war on our planet and only the cats survive. C'mon. That cats abilities were not of this Earth.

Superfluous side quest!

I thought it was okay. My daughter kept asking what kind of cat is like that in the real world. We have three cats and none of them were anything like the special service cat. I felt it dragged along as a movie and I really wanted to know more about the characters, but that was ignored or overlooked. It's most certainly a letdown as much hype was associated with this release.

The consistency of the aliens goes haywire still for there are times that they can hear a piece of glass break about half a mile away and then there are times when they can't hear someone(usually a main character) breathing right next to them. Consistency matters the most in a story like this for it just seems like the creators are picking and choosing when the aliens abilities work and it doesn't work when it is that obvious to see the inconsistency.

It was such a lonely cat lady screenwriter fantasy movie.

This was 100% made to just put a black person in it.

Aliens have no consistency in these movies. Sometimes they can hear a leaf fall a mile away and other times they can’t hear someone breathing super loud right next to them

Why are we calling them aliens? This was day one and showed the audience no proof of alien origin.

Unnecessary sidequests are essential to grind for the uber-super-lootbox unlocks - unless you're willing to cough up 50$...

Very apt comment about adding a freshness by giving new information to something wellknown, to make it relevant. Maybe that was the problem with Furiosa as well?

I enjoyed this movie. Not the best but definitely not the worst movie in recent years. For the past several years movies have been preachy, race focused and borning, so this was enjoyable and characters were likable.

Instead of having the focus of the movie being set in the military prospective of trying to take these things down we're gonna waste soo much fucking time on a boring ass side quest of a cancer patient making dumbass decision after dumbass decision to try to get some pizza. Are you fucking kidding me? FUCK THIS MOVIE 1/10.
